Open Roles

Design Engineer | Short-term freelance (~1 month with potential for extension)

DECEMBER 30, 2025

We’re looking for someone to sprint with us as we take our MVP to the finish line. This person will own the transitions, micro-interactions, and design polish to achieve the premium feel of our core journeys and userflows.

You care deeply about design execution and craft and have live examples of previous work in the consumer space (passion projects, client-driven or in house experience are totally fine!).  Our team is highly design-focused; we are looking for someone to help translate the design vision and strategy into code.

You bring

  • Experience building production iOS apps in Swift/SwiftUI/UIKit

  • Experience building/integrating polished interactions, gestures, haptics

  • Published apps (for clients, in-house, or personal projects)  that demonstrate high-level of craft/interaction design execution

  • The attention to detail to own the conform process

  • Ability to work autonomously and make design decisions in-code

  • Excited by the messy and ambiguous realities of an early-stage, pre-seed business

  • A perspective on optimizing and elevating UX

  • Excited to explore new/novel interaction/UI patterns

Nice to haves

  • Excitement/interest/existing PoV in using generative AI coding assistants (github copilot, ClaudeCode, etc.) for fast exploration, prototyping, speeding up workflows

  • Passion for design-centric products

  • Interest in social, geo, or creator tools

Project status

  • MVP in development

  • Core functional flows built and currently in testing and QA

  • Full app design for MVP + design complete

Current stack

  • Swift

  • SwiftUI

  • MapKit

  • Firebase for authentication, data storage, and cloud storage

Budget

  • Negotiable, competitive, based on market hourly rate

  • Preference for fixed-fee project costs for first engagement

  • We’re looking for values-aligned individuals with the possibility for a longer-term relationship
